News articles

To add news articles you must first add a news page.

1. Go into your site edit mode.
2. Click the "Add Page" button in your site navigation.
3. Select "News Page" 
4. Fil out the Page title, Link Text, Page Layout, Meta Description (optional)
5. Click "Add Page"

If you have already added a news page, you will not be able to add another. Only one news page can be added to each site.

To add a News Article

1. In Edit Mode, Navigate to your News Page.
2. At the top of the news page, click the "Add a News Article" Button
3. Fill out the news article
4. Click Add Article at the bottom.

Notes:

• The Summary appears on the news page and news aggregator and is meant to be a summary of what is in the article. The full article is viewable if users click the news article on the news page or in the news aggregators.
• You can tag the article using categories so that you can filter by categories on your news page or news aggregator.
• You can add an Image to your news article.
• Image Alignment is where the image will be situated in relation to the text of your article.
• Image Size:
  • Fill Space means that it will crop the image, if necessary, so that it match the landscape aspect ratio of the news aggregators.
  • Best Fit (No Cropping) means it will not crop the image. It will make sure the whole image is viewable and place it on a white background.
• Image Alt Text is the text that will appear in place of the image if the image is not able to load.
  • It is useful for search engines like google to identify what the image is of.
  • It is also used when your site is viewed using screen reader software and improves accessibility.

You can schedule a news article to automatically publish itself at any date or time. When creating or editing a news article, modify the "Date of Article". By default, the article will publish on the current date.

Future Posts

Set the "Date of Article" to a future date/time and the article will not publish until the time you've specified. Articles scheduled to post in the future will not be visible in live view but can still be modified in Edit Mode. To unschedule a future post, edit the article's date to the current date/time.
